Fatigue Management Policy – City Taxis Sunraysia
Our Commitment
At City Taxis Sunraysia, the safety of our passengers, drivers, and the wider community is our top priority. We recognise that fatigue can significantly affect alertness, judgement, and driving performance.
This Fatigue Management Policy outlines the measures we take to manage driver fatigue and promote safe driving practices at all times.
What Is Fatigue?
Fatigue is a state of physical or mental exhaustion that reduces a driver’s ability to operate a vehicle safely. It may result from long working hours, inadequate rest, poor sleep quality, or health-related factors.
Our Approach to Managing Fatigue
City Taxis Sunraysia is committed to:
- Encouraging drivers to take regular rest breaks
- Ensuring drivers are fit for duty before accepting bookings
- Preventing excessive working hours that may increase fatigue risk
- Promoting responsible scheduling and adequate rest periods
- Raising awareness about the dangers of driving while fatigued
Driver Responsibilities
- Present themselves alert, well-rested, and fit for work
- Take adequate rest breaks during shifts
- Avoid driving if experiencing signs of fatigue
- Notify management if unfit to drive due to tiredness
- Comply with all applicable road safety and transport regulations
Management Responsibilities
- Monitor driving hours and patterns where reasonably possible
- Encourage safe rostering and reasonable workloads
- Provide guidance and support on fatigue-related concerns
- Take appropriate action if a driver is deemed unfit for duty
Fitness for Work
Drivers must not operate a vehicle if fatigue is likely to compromise safety. Any driver showing signs of extreme tiredness may be required to stop driving until adequately rested.
